What We Believe
So It Is with the Church of the Nazarene. It comes into existence to preach, teach, and model holiness of heart and life as the missional core of its vocation to make Christlike disciples In the nations. Our present and our future as a denomination depends on our faithful participation in the mission of God and our embrace of the distinctive vocation God has given us one of many Christian denominations
The core of our beliefs are best summarized in The Apostles Creed ► ► .
We believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
- Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary:
- Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell:
- The third day he rose again from the dead:
- He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
- From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead:
- We believe in the Holy Ghost:
- We believe in the holy world-wide church: the communion of saints:
- The forgiveness of sins:
- The resurrection of the body:
- And the life everlasting.
Amen.
John Neposlan
John has been a Christian since 1985. He had many Christian influences in those early
years, including Pastor Doug Sargent, who mentored him as a young believer.
John and his family moved to Windsor when he was 12 years old. He has been married
to Colleen since 1995, and together they have five children (Josh, Caleb, Lily, Andrew,
and Rebekah). The Neposlan family is actively involved in Christian ministry and in a
variety of sports teams and ballet.
John has pastored Devonwood Community Church of the Nazarene for 30 years
(since 1996). He also worked for many years with the Essex County Association for
Community Living. He has greatly enjoyed working with the developmentally
Challenged.
John enjoys coaching, playing, and watching baseball. He also enjoys watching other
spectator sports including hockey and football. He likes to golf with friends and is an
avid reader of theology, as well as books about culture and history. John is especially
interested in studying the origins of the Christian faith, with special attention to the
Jewish context of the early Church.

Rupert is a dedicated member of Devonwood Community Church with a green thumb and a heart for serving. He takes care of the gardens and can always be counted on to fix anything that isn’t working right.
